I can’t help but laugh at the ironic title now. Although my first podcast is no longer active, I learned so much about podcasting during those first 30 episodes.
Since then, I’ve worked with hundreds of podcasters, and my clients and students have podcasts with a combined 3,000,000+ downloads. But thinking back, even my first time around, I had a few totally unfair advantages.
First, I’d been teaching at General Assembly for years, so I felt comfortable teaching and interviewing on the mic. (I love teaching!) Second, I’m a trained project manager, so running and simplifying very complex projects is my jam.
And third? I’ve been working professionally in digital marketing for the last 6 years. So I know what makes people hit “play” again and again.
And without it, I never would have hit six-figure downloads, and I certainly wouldn’t have have hit the charts as the #2 Career Podcast in America (for Everything is Teachable).
